Teaching someone the rules

Point them at the how-to. Each live game has one page. You do not need to recite the rules from memory.

Sit with them on Beginner. Let them tap. Say the rule in one sentence, then let the board do the rest.

Sudoku: put 1 through 9 once in every row, column, and box. Star Battle: one star per row, column, and region, and stars do not touch, even at a corner. Binary Puzzle: equally many 0s and 1s in each line, no three identical in a line, and no two rows or columns the same.

When they want the next idea, the how-to already has the first scans. A short sit together is enough. Then they can Play on their own: How to play Sudoku, How to play Star Battle, How to play Binary Puzzle.
